Morgan the Black

Our Treasure-Hunt : How it works ?

After a briefing, a mysterious character hands each team a booklet about the History of Nice, the origin of the treasure — belonging to a certain Morgan the Black, an 18th-century pirate from Nice — as well as clues to find it.
While reading it, participants will discover the history of our beautiful city of Nice through different stages that lead them from one location to another.
Players must follow a route on foot, search for markers, find meeting points with our costumed assistants, and solve various puzzles.

The treasure hunt starts at Place Masséna, the heart of the city, more precisely at the foot of the Apollon Fountain.
An organizer waits for the participants and welcomes them upon arrival.

Beforehand, the family or families will have formed their teams, usually made up of 5 to 7 members — or they may simply choose to stay all together.

During the hunt, players will encounter a buccaneer — or even several, depending on the number of participants.
This character will invite the teams to answer a quiz (geography, history, or general knowledge), unless you have chosen a personalized version.

After this challenge, families will receive a parchment that allows them to continue their quest.
From stage to stage, question to question, surprise to surprise, and clue to clue, teams must progress all the way to the treasure’s lair.

Discover or Rediscover the City of Nice

You will uncover the thrilling life of Morgan the Black, a gunner in the 18th century aboard the pirate brig Le Sans Pitié, commanded by Captain Olivier Levasseur, known as “La Buse.”
In 1729, after a violent battle in the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer against a frigate flying the flag of the House of Savoy, all trace of this man was lost.
In the smoky taverns of the port of Nissa, it was said that this pirate had amassed a fabulous treasure from his plunder.
Your mission is to find this treasure, hidden somewhere in Nice.

This treasure hunt is a journey that will take you partly through the “Vièia Vila”, the Old Town, at the foot of Castle Hill— the birthplace of the city, originally a small Greek trading post.

The city of Nice is full of unusual places and interesting sites thanks to its historical past, its wealth of mysteries and curiosities, often hidden behind architectural and botanical treasures.

Energized by the vibrant atmosphere of Nissa La Bella, lovingly restored over the decades for the enjoyment of locals, vacationers, and visitors alike, your adventure will remain forever engraved in your memory as a treasure hunter.
Alongside the game you are participating in, you are also writing another story to tell later: your own, and that of your team during this challenge — a moment suspended in time.
